Launch of the nationwide strike of the Bailiffs
The National Chamber of Bailiffs suspends today all services, summons and criminal hearings at national level.
In continuation of the nationwide strike the National Chamber of Bailiffs initiated from Monday, September 15, a demonstration was held at 12:00 pm today at the Courthouse in Paris (4 boulevard du Palais - 75001 Paris) and gathered by over 5,000 bailiffs.
On the occasion of this first strike of regulated professions, the president of the National Chamber, Patrick Sannino, reminded the government the need to consider the recommendations of his profession so as not to develop
"a bill that would lead to rising inequality without providing additional resources to the French economy.»
The president of the National Chamber of Bailiffs denounced "a reform against the poorest and against the interests of French companies and
"privatization of justice"
to the detriment of the most vulnerable households and disadvantaged areas." While recalling that
"the profession was not against a reform in itself,"
Patrick Sannino stated that if the draft bill in its current form, were to be applied, it would generate
"the elimination of rates minus and free acts”
“and”
would place the activity of the bailiff profession on the economic requirements of profitability of shareholders mainly foreigners rather than its vocation of last social link ".
After the announcement of the nationwide strike of his profession, the president of the National Chamber was invited to the Ministry of Justice Wednesday, September 17 to meet with the Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, and the Minister of Justice, Mrs Christiane Taubira, to engage the dialogue presented by the Government on 10 September, in a joint press release of the two ministers.
A website relaying national mobilization of the profession is being launched today: www.privedejustice.fr and a twitter account: @ justiceprivee privedejustice
